Behaviour - From Diagnosis to Intervention
Following the genome revolution, the phenome revolution is currently underway. Novel ways of measuring and representing behaviours allow the description and quantification of complex diseases using behavioural analytics. Sentimoto is leading the way in understanding the behavioural characteristics of conditions common to ageing: rheumatoid arthritis, depression, and frailty. In this talk, Sentimoto will explore the importance of the reliability of the behavioural data, the novel metrics developed to understand behaviour beyond step count, and will give an insight into the kind of data-driven models developed to help understand when behaviour change is important. Concluding on how deep learning techniques can be used to open new avenues now that the data is becoming increasingly abundant.
Alessandro obtained is DPhil in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Oxford. Alongside three colleagues, he founded Sentimoto in 2013, with the aim of becoming the first company to tackle behavioural diagnosis and intervention in older adults.
